Default So what do we REALLY Know

Many posts on here put an end to Fluke and Seabass before maybe its really over. Yes I get the migration patterns, the September / Oct storms etc etc.
Not starting anything here just curious why we always are ready to pull the plug on what appears to be solid fishing.

Granted fluke closed Sept 19 but yet if it were open many fish were and are still around. Not the huge numbers but plenty

Granted Seabass reopened Oct 8th and most had them written off as offshore ONLY but yet again there are keepers on the inshore grounds and the boats that know /NO ( Lab reference)

While I get the fishing may not be that of the spring seabass or the July / Aug fluke seems to me that we have such a great fishery here in NJ that its sad to see PB sailing with 8 guys when there are enough fish around to support these guys business throughout Sept / Oct.

My point is simple None of us know for sure whats out there unless we go. Weather is hit or miss as is the catch but where else would you rather be than out there! Give our for hire industry your business and guess what no matter what NOAA says we are NOT overfishing on the Rec side.

I understand what you are saying, but remember its no longer vacation season, school is back in session, days are shorter , and there is less time for most people at this time of year. Factor in the weather this time of year where we can have a week of rain from the south followed by a week of a hard east wind, and its understandable.. People have kids in soccer, football, and a gazillion other sports as well, and their weekends are busy with those activities..
I am DYING to get down, but I go to 4 practices and 2 games a week to see my grandkids play..
Mostly hardcore guys seem able to make the time... They are the guys the for hire boats depend on to keep them going when the "tourists" are gone.... bob
