Default FISHERMEN/Fridays Fishing Report

Found a little bite first drop this morning, current was ripping but we had some Jumbo porgies along with way too many Sea Bass once again.

Fished a couple area's as the bite didn't last long. Search mode most of the day until the last drop on the incoming.

We found a nice pile of Triggers and some big porgies, ended up with 16 big Trigger fish including Joel's 5 pounder for the pool. High hook had three triggers and a bunch of Porgy.

Beautiful day out there with a calm ocean.

SORRY BUT WE ARE NOT AVAILABLE TOMORROW (SATURDAY).

Back at it on Sunday. Open Boat, No Reservations just come on down. Fare is $80.

Capt. Ron

NICE!.. Too many sea bass?.. If some of them were good size, hopefully they will still be around in week for you and your fares.

There are a minimum of 2 sea bass for every porgy, more like 25 for every porgy on some spots. Most are small to tiny, some are legal to large. First two weeks of sea bass should be a ton of action with a good amount of keepers.

I'm thinking on the 8th they will Magically disappear! Seems to happen every year.

It does seem that way..
I think the "powers that be" know about when and how fast the main body of sea bass move out of range of the inshore party boat fleet, and open the season just after... Might just be my imagination, but its a thought.... btw, looks like nice catches there for your fares. I hope the sea bass are within range at the opener, and the triggers hang in a few more weeks for you guys.. Hoping to get down there 8/11 and get out with you guys . bob

I think most people will catch dinner until the last week in October when it becomes a Farms on out bite until a few days before blackfish opens. There have been times in recent years when I have had good catches within sight of land (at least a skyscraper or two) until Christmas time. However usually I am happy to get mid November.
