Default Raritan Bay 8/15

Got out of Keyport in the AM, wind was still a little snotty so I thought I'd stay local until it died down. Found out I didn't need to move, had a perfect drift right along the edge of the Reach from #20 west, in 20-28ft. of water. Picked fish all day, got 3 for the table, biggest at 24". We stuck with the tried and true Wonder rig, and as usual, the killie got 'em all. Just a couple dogs and sea robins, so they weren't much of a problem, it was pretty much all fluke, all day.

Yes, they are still in R. Bay, had four keepers to 20" plus at N.Y. side.

Nice job! I was surprised how many boats in the back. Like old times.

Great report and glad you got’em... If fuel prices continue going up we’ll be doing over nighters to Romer Shoal

Haha you're right. Best part of this trip, I made my last drift extra-long, the incoming tide took us right up to the sailboats in Keyport, I didn't burn any fuel on the ride home LOL
