The Shrimpman gives you the best advice - you’ll love fishing on the Yankee Capts. Capt Greg Mercurio, originally from Gloucester, Masschusetts, runs 2-4 day bottom fishing trips from Key West. You can get everything you need at NJF sponsor the Reel Seat (Brielle NJ), who custom wraps rods for the Yankee Capts.

Check out the Fish Monster. Every day I get updates from them. Looks like they are consistently catching snappers and groupers in the reefs/wrecks. They are located right in Key West.

Rush Maltz out of Stock Island. Has his own TV show, Local Knowledge. My Wife and i went sail fishing in April a few years ago and it was epic. It was on his prior boat, 32 Andros. Great gear, clean boat, tons of knowledge and very friendly crew.

I have enjoyed party boat fishing on the Salty Goat out of Key West. www.saltygoatfishingcharters.com

They call themselves a charter but run an open boat most of the time. Fare was $75 and they fished 9 to 2 .Reservations only.

They have catch and cook services at just about every restaurant. We had a great meal of my fresh caught yellow tail snapper prepared at Dante's, just a short walk from the boat. Dante's has a large pool which made for a pleasant view from our poolside table.
