![]() Whats some suggestions on baits for fishing in ponds? We do a lot of small pond fishing, using rubber worms and a few topwater poppers, what are some suggestions on things to try?

![]() I like your choices that you already use, add spinners like Memps and spinnerbait and your good. Obviously it’s all personal preference and some ponds will produce better than others. 🎣

![]() Yep some good choices.... If I had to choose only a handful of artificials they would be in the following order
- Texas rigged Culprit rubber worms blue and pumpkin - Senko whacky rigged Yamato rubber worms you can fish them weighted or unweighted - Some top waters, a weedless frog, jointed floating rappala, Smithwicks Devil Horse and Hula Poppers - Spinners like Mepps but I happen to prefer the Panther Martin brand If you're fishing a pond a small pond you want the smaller sizes.

![]() Surprised no one has mentioned any micro crank baits? Small shallow divers are a good option, both floating or sinking.
My brother in law has a a black top/white bottomed sinking Rapala "finnesse" minnow or something like that, probably about 2-3" long - it is one of his favorites. It has caught him plenty of SMB as well as crappies and muskies. Last edited by Joeblowv1; 03-02-2021 at 11:09 AM.. |

Musta missed it! Just seemed most folks were recommending everything but. Cranks may not be my first choice if going for panfish, but it will catch SMB and other smallies (Pike/LMB/etc) Hang on to those boxes, genuine rapalas are atleast 4-5$ each so you're sitting on a small fortune! |

![]() The "other type" are likely husky jerks which suspend when paused vs floating to the surface or sinking. They do make other suspending plugs that arent husky jerk, like X-raps, etc.
