Default Sunday fluke

Started off in between the channels. Couple flukes but not very productive. Went over to the tin can grounds and that general area. Boats over there drifting for fluke and Porgys mixed in. A couple of short fluke and three keeper porgies. Wasn’t really looking for porgies so we picked up and moved. Wasn’t really looking for porgies so we picked up and moved. Headed over to Rockaway in Fished over there the rest of the day until the south wind started blowing hard. The bite was nonexistent over there and By 2 o’clock the south wind was blowing harder and we had no keepers whatsoever so we decided to call it a day. Fish Saturday and Sunday and the fluke bite was lousy both days. No sugarcoating this, that’s why they call it fishing.

Was out on Sunday too with similar results... Started out between the channels, nothing there, moved over towards the Rockaways, nothing there either... South wind kicked up and the only place to get out of it was tight into the beach on the face of Sandy Hook were we got our only keeper.

Fished a charter with myself and 5 of my friends yesterday out of Morgan marina between the 6 of us we limited out of keeper fluke 18 keepers nothing smaller than 20". The downside to the trip was we fished atlantic beach area which from Morgan marina was almost a 2 hour boat ride but it payed off in the end if you can make the trip out that way the fish are In there heavy but like I said its a very long boat ride to get there

Thanks for the replies guys. I take it that’s atlantic reef area you meant to say. Funny thing is we were going to fish that area on Sunday but we just didn’t make it there yet. We were working our way in that direction. That’s the thing about fluke fishing it’s so unpredictable it’s crazy. No matter what day it is and when everybody’s getting skunked there’s somebody that clubs them Lol.

No I ment atlantic beach off long island not the Atlantic reef we left from Morgan marina headed east and fished NY waters which is federal water being 3+ miles offshore the fish are holding there due to the amount of spearing in the water thats all they were throwing up after we were catching them
