![]() I went out on the cong today to see if i could get some more fish for my food supply in case the situation gets worse with this viral outbreak. The crappies were where i left them on the 15th. They were chasing baitfish at one of my spots so they were easy to locate. Again i used the jig-n-bobber method. The jigs of the day were mini mites, black rufus jr with gulp minnow and a homemade deer hair with pink feather. That jig was tied by one of my fellow kdc members(thanks to Jim Moloney for that) he did a great job the crappies love it. Also i noticed some perch eggs near the shore where i launched my canoe, it seems early to see that. The slow roll and the simple twitch and rest method did the trick. Some of the larger crappies had herring in their stomachs while the smaller ones had water bugs in them. The fish in the photo are between 12 and 13"

![]() Nice job!
Isn't it interesting how an unnatural or brightly colored jig or bait can be the answer to getting bit. I have made jigs that have been so gaudy that I'm afraid to use them.lol |
