Default salted clams

Wanted to go to Pt. Canal for my 1 Tog they did not have Green Crabs so I got 1pt. of clams They charged me 8 dollars!! Did I get robbed or is that how much they cost?

It is rape imo what they charge for salted clams.
I stop at a sea food store on the way back from the shore and purchase live clams for $16 for 50 and then salt them myself. They are not surf clams, the next size down. (forget what they call them)

The price of clams has gone way up in the last several years. It wasn't that long ago that I was paying 25 bucks per bushel. I think I paid 60 in the spring. The clammers are catching far less and working harder to get them. It's supply and demand. You are lucky they had any. Sometimes they are hard to get. As for getting robbed, if paying a few bucks more for clams is the worst thing that happens to you this week you are doing okay!
