Default Little Help in Lavallette

Hey guys- any info you could share would be awesome

I usually fish the Sandy Hook area generally launching from keyport to Atlantic Highlands and also down in the navesink. I'm in lavallette this week on a last minute thing and have no idea where to go! I have my 21 CC on the trailer with me- I have gear for everything from backwater fluke to ocean bottom fish, surf rods and even my shark rods and gear.

Any info you could provide in terms of good bait shops in the area, places to launch (I was going to launch from Deep Creek Cove in Point Pleasant to do a couple ocean trips), ANYTHING would be appreciated.

Thanks fellas and tight lines!

Alot of options there. For back bay Fluke Mantoloking and Bayhead area or Manasquan river. Out front you have the Axel Carlson, Sea Girt reefs and the Red church area good for Fluke and Bottom fish. Shark river reef bottom fish and good for Shark fishing too. Alot more spots I'm leaving out. I'm sure others on here know better than me.Hope this helps good luck.

I forgot to mention that Lavallette was a good surf fishing spot not so sure now with the beach replenishment, but I'm pretty sure you could get Fluke small Blues there and Maybe Sharks at night.

Personally, I would spend a few hours in the river in the AM, looking for Fluke.. If nothing else you should hook plenty of shorts.. Then I would run out off Deal /Elberon on the rough bottom in around 60- 70 FOW, with bottom bait rigs looking for Ling.. Then a the last hour or so, i would move closer to shore in 40-50 FOW water still on rough bottom, and try to get my 2 fish sea bass limit.. You might hang a big fluke or two there as well... bob

Axel Carlson or sea girt reef will give you a short run to fish .
Both are great. Areas, and maps are available,on NJ fish and game website under NJ REEF SITES
