Default surf reports

Fished the bay Sunday and Monday - both days were tough. Very little bait - very unlike last week. Most anglers did not catch anything when I was there (a few hours before and after high tide). On Sunday ran to Sandy Hook after nothing in the bay and had fish on practically every other cast. Small cocktail blues, a few fluke, and huge herring/shad (2 lbs). No falsies or stripers.

Any reports out there?

We took a slow ride home from the Sandy Hook Reef this past Sunday (one motor giving us trouble) and saw scattered bird action from the SH Toll Booths north to Gunnison and saw some guys on the beach hooked up... I guess they were into the same Blues that you were...Bunker were thick the who way up.

Stripers are and have been thick in upper NY Harbor all summer so hopefully a sign of things to come if the bait sticks around and stays inshore....

False albacore blitzed the surf at Sandy Hook Point. 300 anglers fished for them the other day as told by a local highlands tackle shop....
