Default FISHERMEN/Anyone know what kind of fish this is?

I have never seen anything like this....thought it was a blow fish that grew up around the Nuclear power plant! It puffed up like a Blow fish but those spikes were pretty scary! Any idea???

Definitely a Striped Burrfish.
Caught one off Sandy Hook on a PB a few years ago.

Striped burrfish. Common in NJ waters as they spawn in these parts.

Capt. Ron.....awesome catch and does mimic a blowfish that spent too much time in Newark Bay. Catch them while you can because now that a pic has been posted, NMFS is going to change the regulation on this fishery as well. Rumor has it next year they're implementing a daily boat possession limit of one fish, size limit of 32 inches (even though the species rarely exceeds 10 inches) and a season starting 10/1 at 7:30 am extending through noon. Further restrictions will be considered if the fishery doesn't exceed the benchmark levels set by 350% to sustain this resource which has no recreational or commercial value.

Either way......pretty exotic looking fish!
