We started off along the beach this morning and saw a decent amount of bird life, along with good readings at times. We did not catch as good as we saw, however, we still managed to have nice drifts where we picked away with decent shots of small blues, mackerel and a few Spanish mackerel. Midday, we went offshore and drifted for the sea bass and fluke where we had plenty of action along with jigging an occasional blue and mackerel. We saw plenty of life everywhere we went today, and there was plenty of bait around, along with plenty of blues on top, at times. They just didn’t cooperate today as well as they have been. Our pool winner was Guy McClain from Hamilton, NJ.
