![]() Is it possible to get sea bass on one of the small skiff rentals? Keeper size seabass. I've caught those little 8 inch babies everwhere, but never seen a keeper sea bass on one of those rentals.

![]() If for some reason you MUST catch sea bass in a skiff, Long Island Sound is your best bet... The further east the better, but I do know they can be caught from rental skiffs there, from mid island toward the east is best.. However, a lot of those fish are more mid sound on deep rocky reefs, not an ideal place for a rental skiff.. Personally, I would jump on a boat that fishes for them in season rather than try and rent a skiff...bob
