Default Keyport Seahawk - Better Seabassin

Was out there before the winds this weekend and the sea bass fishing was better than last weekend. Another boat limit, but got it quicker and the general size was much better also. we ended up fishing a little deeper this time. the crispy jig still dominated the bait rig

Nice fish right there! I’m hoping to try my hand at sea bassing for the second time sometime next week. Do you mind sharing what depth/tide stage was working best? I’m not even sure the second part of that question is all that relevant for sea bass.

we found them in a few depths from 40-65' but seemed to be better size on the deeper end of that. They def shut off kind of at one point but honestly it was like half way through the tide if i remember correctly...they bit well through the slack.

just go to the reef see if you can mark some spots and/or drop down if the drift is slow enough and find them that way.
