Striped Bass Report 5/22/18

Today was our first Bass trip of the season and after reading Mondays good reports from a few of our members, Sal, Walt and myself were ready to catch a few nice ones. We broke BI early am and headed north up the beach out towards the 3 mile line and dropped in the Maja spoons and mojos and trolled up past the pier and had our first knockdown on the #4 green spoon but it didn't come tight. We trolled and talked to a few members who were working hard trying to find few around the bunker pods with limited success.Finally just as we were about to wrap it up Walt and Sal joined forces and in a last ditch effort and found a hungry bass that hit the #4 chrome spoon and we landed our only fish of the day. Very tough bite today but the rest off the week looks fishable before the mad rush on the weekend.
