Bluegills amazing
1st time out for 2018. Went to a little pond in Columbia. The bluegills were very active. Took them on a bobber and trout magnet. Bluegills never stop amazing me the water can be 30degrees or 80 degrees and they just keep going. They are a great fish for there size on a ultralight setup they fight hard and they are also a good eating fish.all in all a very fun day

Re: Bluegills amazing
I read they never stray more than 100 yards from where they are born and remain in that area for their entire lives.

Redbreast sunfish are the same when it comes to any lil shallow hole in the raritan. I like tiny jigs, size 10 hooks, for them. Doest matter what you put on the jig. As long as they see it they'll eat it!

Re: Bluegills amazing
Yes columbia lake dam is still there. I have to say a lot of fish do come out of the delaware river up to that dam. I have caught quite a few walleye and a real lot of shad. In section of river below the dam. I have seen musky swimming in there. I see no sign of dam coming down yet. The Paulinskill river is diffently big and deep enough to support the fish that would come out of the delaware
