Brick Memorial High School needs tackle:
I found this on a fishing website.........Hello everyone. I have been a barner for many years and I am a Health/Physical Education teacher at Brick Memorial High School. I have started a new class where the students are able to get out fishing 2 hours a day, 2 days a week, and will be learning how to be a good advocate for the environment and learn new skills. The students are Juniors/Seniors at the High School and is in our curriculum during Physical Education class. We are the first school in the state of NJ to implement this into our curriculum and allow the kids access to fish during the school day. They will be learning about species migration, filleting skills, etc. The class is called Hooked On Fishing Not On Drugs and will be used to battle our terrible opioid epidemic. We will be working with our Marine Biology, Oceanography, Culinary, and Woodshop Departments as well. With all that being said we will be running this class based solely on donations. I am asking that if you have any extra equipment laying around in the garage that you are not using anymore and would like to donate I would love to pick it up. We will need everything from pliers, rods/reels, seining nets, crabbing equipment, etc. We will be fishing the Manasquan Inlet, Point Pleasant Canal, Manasquan River, Ocean, Barnegat Bay, and freshwater lakes/ponds. If you think you have something that can help out our class I would like to hear from you. You can either respond on private message or call/text me at (732) 684-2143. My name is Tim
