Well there's a surprise! Another species "overfished" by us again! They will not be happy until the ocean is only to be looked at and not fished. Thank you for continually reducing the values of our boats and equipment!

I would bet that by June this will be mandatory. 83" minimum is approximately 250lbs. Another lost fishery! One of my favorites. Meanwhile no size limit for long liners, as long as it comes up "dead". If there are no observers on these boats be assured all makos will come up "dead". Very sad!

They are cursed with having good flesh, and long liners keep them.. As we all know, a LOT of what is sold as "swordfish" everywhere is actually the Short Fin mako.

Anything with a high market demand these days is simply going to have a ton of regulation placed on it, especially for rec anglers...
