The best preventative measure...is catching fish!!! I'm sure your boy (and sponsor) will keep you guys on the fish and won't have to worry.

Even with the meds keep them occupied...or talking about something other then sea sickness! Continue showing them where the horizon is and have them fish in the middle of the boat so the rocking is not as extreme. Take away their cell phones since reading will bring it on too. Good luck have fun!!!

Which ever one you use, it works best if taken before they start to get sick. Like the ride dow. Or on the dock before going.

From what I've seen, none work after the vomit flies.

Diet is very important. The staple for sailors is saltines. They soak up the liquid in your stomach. Bagels and pretzels would be nearly as good with hard pretzels as good as saltines.

Avoid eating anything greasy. Fried chicken is the absolute worst. I had to be the navigator at the last minute on a Montauk-Marthas Vineyard and back 24 hour race when the airline pilot who was supposed to be our navigator got seasick after eating fried chicken and pickled eggs. For me, beer is also bad. I don't touch the stuff when I am on a boat. Your mileage could vary.

I have been close to seasick a couple of times on sailboats going across the Grand Bahamas Banks even though I am very careful what I eat on a boat. Two days of constant side-to-side pitching is the real test.

The wrist bands that put pressure on a point on your wrist work well. I don't know why but I have seen them work on other people.
