The old seaman used to warn that days after a moon tide.
So high high water beach debris gets relaunched. All dried out and floqaing high. That's why real rainy storms you will see branches and tree trucks swept out of the Raritan River into the Bay. Slowly sinking a little bit every day as it becomes water logged again.
