Jmurr- recipe for whiskey:

Drive to state store(PA)
Purchase Jack Daniels(big bottle)
Drive home(quickly)
Crack bottle open(just the wrapper arounf the top now!)
Pour shots (again and again)
Don't drive anymore.....


........seems the gov't has an issue with a distillery in the garage......LOL

haahahah yeah my great grandfather found that out when he first came over from Ireland haha
question is grain available in nj cause i cannot find it in PA?

I looked at a lot of these recipes and they go anywhere from 3-5 days to 3 weeks. I'm giving it 14-15 days.

Hey Joey, grain alcohol in DE. 95 south just across the border on Naamans Rd (Rte92) Liquor store in the Home Depot parking lot

I couldn't resist finishing this up.

The recipe I used made (9) bottles and it is very good but, MAN is it strong.

Howard, wow that's a huge batch depending on size of bottles. Ours makes about a gallon when strained. With the grain alcohol it will be a bit stronger than the vodka. You can "smoothe" it out a little with some more sugar water boiled down. Don't forget to serve it ice cold, it cuts the harshness too. Oh yeah, it's mean for sipping too, no guzzling of this stuff!

Enjoying the fruits of labor having some of the nice ice cold orangecello along with a few homemade Pizzelles from my wife's latest batch and watching the two hockey games on TV.....what a great night!
