Thumbs up Passaic river 9/14/25:

Left my comfort zone and headed up to the Passaic to join 20 volunteers for 6 hours. This was a small section of river near Totowa off Rt. 46, I am not familiar with this area at all. We banked over 400 tires and a huge pile of junk. If you want to know why the cancer rate is so high in NJ you are looking at it. I just wish more fishermen would get involved. There are hundreds of "environmental" groups in NJ that want to show children pretty fields and have "butterfly day" or sit around and ask for donations to "look" at climate change, where are they now ??? There is no planet B, this is it !!
Even found an 8 track cassette !!

They are mind boggling pictures. A big thanks again to all that try keeping our waterways clean. That's a crap load of tires in a seemingly limited area, does law enforcement ever use trail cams trying to record these idiots or is that not possible.

These tires are 30 to 40 years old, many older. People would rather look into "climate change" and not what is in the river behind their homes. Where are all the environmental groups ??

Andy, this is incredible. Thank you so much for your efforts. I would love to be a part of the next cleanup effort as the Passaic has proven to be one of the most incredible fisheries in the state.

Can you post any future clean-up dates or information on this site?

Can you forward me to any sites where I can sign up or find info on Passaic river cleanups?

Thanks again for your help. I always bring a bag with me everytime I go fishing and I often paddle back on my kayak with random stuff I've picked up on the river. Sometimes its a fantastic new lure!
