Just purchased a Penn Fathom II lever drag 15. Plan on using reel for blackfish. Any spare suggestions on braid and how heavy. ?

If you plan to rig and sinker fish then 50 or 65 pound braid. If you want to jig with it, 20 pound braid because the jigs are much lighter and the smaller diameter allows it to sink better and not get caught by the current as much.

Make sure to put some mono on the spool first since braid can spin on the spool if you don't. Some black electrical tape can be used as backing as well...
