Default First 2017 Fluke trip - Shark River - So So

Expectations were high based on previous scouting trip. Those expectations got even higher when I landed my first 2017 keeper at the dock before anyone else arrived. Unfortunately the bite was off. I got my limit (3) but my 2 unnamed partners didn't.

Could have been a coupla' factors at play:
- water was dirty from all of yesterday's rain
- drift was real fast, outgoing water + W wind, fluke bites were 'one & done' - no 'come-on backs'
- the pinhooker working the river over the last two weeks (500 pounds per day) clobbered them

It was good to bounce the jigs again

If 500 pounds a day is even close to accurate in tiny estuary like shark river, thats a LOT of damage in a 2 week period... bob

WTG Larry. Nice to be bouncing BTs again.

I wouldn't blame any outside influences on the catch, probably just your abilities .....

Way to slay them from the dock larry. If I were I wouldn't jump on any boats.

The floating dock was place to be. If fished near ramp and then down by train bridge. Managed to hook up several times.....with the only snags to be found in. Both places..,,no fish for me from docks....back out on boat today
