Hard to say for sure, but it looks like it might be a custom-built surf rod, maybe from the late '80s or early '90s. I’ve seen a few like this where the wood butt was added for distance casting or heavy surf fishing, especially in spots like the Jersey Shore. The lack of markings makes me think it’s definitely custom since factory rods usually have branding or specs. If it feels light for its size, it’s probably decent graphite, which was a big deal back then. I’ve picked up rods like this at estate sales before, and they’re usually one-of-a-kind builds.
