Default Canoe camping and fishing Vermont

Got back from Green Mountains NF Saturday night. Did my annual dad/daughter trip with my oldest. 5 days and 4 nights off the grid. Beautiful up there. Cool in the mountains.

Good action on small Rapalas, top water plugs and 1/4 oz Kastmers on ultra light gear. Mostly decent sized small mouth, some yellow perch and a few pickerel. I was excited to hook into a big 4-5lb chain that actually took my canoe for a ride. When I got it to the boat, I thought it was a pike (next time I will remember not to put my fingers in the gills! ouch).

Can't wait for the next trip, maybe end of October

Thanks for the replies. It's a nice change and good for the soul. New England is great this time of year. A lot of fun with ultra light gear, casting lures.
