![]() I'm looking to pick a Jigging World Deep Monster Rod for Tile Fishing. I played with one a little at the fishing expo. What I did like was the rod was not a broom stick in the tip like so many tile rods are. I know they are rated 4lbs-5lbs but would love to see this. Does anyone have any first hand experience fishing this rod for tile??? I also want to give tuna fishing a try this year and I wonder if this rod can serve double duty??? All my fishing is from a head boat. Thank you in advance...

![]() I’ve used the Deep Monster a few times for tile fishing, and I like it a lot. The tip isn’t overly stiff, so you can actually feel the bites, but it’s still got enough backbone to handle heavier weights and bring fish up from deep water. For tuna, I’d say it depends on the size—smaller tuna, sure, but I’d probably go with something heavier for bigger ones. If you’re fishing mostly from head boats and want a rod that can do a bit of both, it’s not a bad choice at all.
