![]() Last minute Seabass trip did not disappoint with me brother Joe, Islander and Jarhead. Started out fairly shallow, nice little pick going on with a mix of shorts, some barely legals with a few knuckle heads in the mix. Not everyone was catching so we made a move a little deeper looking for a better bight which didn’t work out. Made another move deeper yet which was also a bust and made one last stop in a shallower spot on the way home and filled our limit.
Seems like they preferred crabs instead of clams and wanted the high low rig. Islander tired jigging with both medal and blackfish jigs, no luck. The bite on the last drop was as good as it gets, completely savage drop and real fishing. Double headers and even some tog and Seabass mixed doubles. Hard to believe we still have closed seasons on these fish since you practically can't avoid catching one... Nice to see the sun for a change and be out on such a beautiful day If you’re new to fishing or would like to introduce someone to fishing, I’d get in on the Seabass scene ASAP and jump on a charter or party boat in the next few weeks. These fish are practically suicidal, they’re still shallow so a relatively short ride, the weather is warm and the fish are tasty.

![]() We pretty much did the same thing on Monday. Had a slow pick inshore in 50ft of water but nice size fish. Went out to some deeper spots and nothing but tiny Sea Bass. Headed back to the original spot in shallower water and caught a few more jumbo's! I read a ton of fish on the FF everywhere I stopped but they still had a hangover from the storm plus the full moon didn't help much either. Glad they where biting better the next day. Tight Lines!
