Night carp

After losing a carp on my first hookup of the day, I caught a 6.5 lb common carp on my last cast of the night with canned whole kernel corn in 60 degrees Colonial Lake tonight in the cold rain.

Yes, I bought more than 200 can cans for 50 cents each this year. No carp in the 47 degree rain and 56 degrees lake tonight. Tomorrow may be better.

The fish were still biting this evening with an air temperature of 52 degrees and water temperature of 56 degrees on a cold, windy, rainy, nor’easter night. Caught and released a largemouth bass with a 1/32 oz twister tail leadhead jig on 2 lb test line. Then caught and released a golden shiner with canned whole kernel corn on 4 lb test line. Ended up catching 4 bluegills, 2 more roach and a 7.5 lb common carp with corn on 12 lb test line. Didn’t see another fisherman. Saw a great egret catch and swallow a fish.
