Like it was said it all depends on the depth of the water. I have found the bigger fish can suspend 10-30 feet off the bottom and the smaller fish are on the bottom. They also like Gulp 5" grubs on a jig also. Tight lines.

I hardly ever bait fish . Much more fun jigging .
Looking for metals that resemble a sand eel . Ava 17-27 depending on depth and drift . When they are too light I use both Gibbs minnows and colt snipers . IMO. Many days those last two lures will outfish an AVA because they have more action . Contrary to some peoples belief jigs will always catch if bait is . And many times they will catch fish when Bait isn’t Sometimes it requires a different jig or a diffferent action working it . .
