It was a well known bite for months. Thankfully conservation and coasties were watching guys very carefully, checking boats who were putting fish on the deck. I'm sure some guys slipped thru but it's a substantial federal charge and fine if caught keeping the wrong sized fish!

All those small CC's coming in with 80's in their rocket launchers the last few months weren't fishing the canyons. It's been happening well within sight of land since July if you know where to look.

The pics are so deceiving tho. The fleet is off Rockaway but the pics are being snapped in the harbor on the way back to the dock.

I guarantee you, there are people reading the article and seeing all the online pics the past 2 months, who think the fish are being caught right in front of the Statue of Liberty.

Indeed. Not sure which surprises me the most..

This story is being reported now considering this bite has been around for a couple of months.

I'm just learning about it now. I must have missed the initial reports. I don't remember seeing anything about it here on these forums.

Guess I'm just getting old

Question Re: Is this for real?

Maybe many stopped posting reports because they were tired of seeing 300 boats out there every time.

Fish were there for a few months and people tried to keep it quiet since they didn’t want a mob scene. Word is out now but fish are gone.

…thanks for schooling me. I don’t know anything about the Hudson, but thanks for telling me about Rockaway.
