Thumbs up Back from SRNY! The Kings are coming! 10/2-10/5

Northbound trip with the boys is what I look forward to every year. We camp, fish and eat like kings at Selkirk state park. Met up with Mikey, Scotty, Nick, Luke, Big Fonz, Brandon, Rocco, Joey Xtralongname, Steve, Bruno, Johnny Peppers and Kirsten on this year’s adventure. We had a bunch of sites next to each other which was awesome. Of course our site was where the party was. Sheeesh, no more Bourbon for me. Anyway back to the fishing. Don’t believe the hype on certain social media pages. The fish were here and there but there hasn’t been a big run yet. Most of our action came from the upper river as there wasn’t much trickling in down low. Pretty much everyone caught fish on this trip and Hookmanski got his first ever King out of a sleeper creek. Congrats my brother. Solid fish!!! Hoping the other newbies get to land there firsts as well.

Looks like there was actually some good movement today from the consistent rain showers we fished through. It’s about time. The fish should be running very well within the next week. Just in time for the Columbus weekend circus. Hoping to get back up there at the end of the month depending on my schedule. We’ll see what happens. TIGHT LINEZ!!!

Eddie looks like you guys had a blast. I know it's early still but any browns or steelhead yet? LFZ, great spot.

Years ago where your holding that fish in the 6th picture used to be all water and one of the best spots on the river before they diverted water around the island just upriver. That completely changed the flow of the pool pushing everything to the south side.

There's some huge browns in that river. Lot make it all the way up to the dam beyond the wire every year. Good to see some chrome already, hopefully bodes well for a good run. Love that stretch and the UFZ, good water and even though it still gets crowded it's nothing compared to lower part of the river. Glad you guys had a good time, it's a special fishery.
