Pickerel
Caught and released two pickerel in 50 degree Turn Mill Pond this evening with a 1/8 oz jig on 4 lb test line.

Nice.
I fished there 43 years ago. I remember it like last month. We caught dozens of pickerel in December.

Especially good to hear of 50-degree open water, too. Up here above where I live North-Central, the thick ice is good to go but still there of course. Made some spinners last night. All different weight-to-blade ratios. Maybe next week. Pond over here on outskirts of town still iced over, I believe.
