![]() That's what I call working for your fish, nice job.
I remember when I did that sort of thing back in the 80's and 90's, the main lake would be open but we had to go through 40 to 50 yds. of ice to get out to it. One time there was an area of 4 to 6" of ice, at the north end of the lake that came off shore about 100 yds. with about eight or ten guys fishing on it as close as 25 yds. to open water. I was in my boat casting towards the edge of the ice in 30 fow and also trolling along the edge since the trout would set-up there. To my way of thinking these guys were really pushing their luck and I had to be careful not to make too much of a wake coming or going. |
