Default No rod clamp no problem

My Abu's were loosening up while fishing sometimes and they don't have clamps. Came up with this. Wrap electrical tape in front of tightening knob a couple times to keep it from backing off. A little glue on edge of tape where you break it off and problem solved. Tape comes off easy if you want to remove reel.

Default Re: No rod clamp no problem

I do the same with my old Fenwick ultralight fiberglass trout rod. The reel seat is two aluminum rings on the cork handle. One of the rings seats tightly. The other always loosens up. A little electrical tape holds the loose ring in place.
The tight ring can be removed and the reel can be removed without changing the tape on the loose ring.
