Are you allowed to access the reservoir through these two gates before 8am? There is a sign that says the park is closed from 4pm-8am.

NJDEP’s Division of Fish & Wildlife owns the main boat ramp, adjoining gravel ramp. That area is open 24 hours as long as you engaged in legal fishing activities.

The dike area, from the narrow open gate (1rst photo) to the wider open gate (2nd photo) is owned by the NJ Water Supply Authority. Anglers fish off the rip rap on both sides during the day. I’ve never heard of anyone hassling them. I don’t know about after dark.

NJDEP’s Division of Parks & Forests owns the land beyond the wider open gate (2nd photo). It is open after Labor Day through Memorial Day during park hours (currently, 8AM – 4PM).

Now, that gate is unlocked 24hrs. Technically, you are not supposed to enter before 8AM or after 4PM,……….but people (anglers, hikers, dog walkers) do.
