Carbon steel blades are easy to sharpen and the tungsten sharpeners pictured here might be overkill. The tungsten is great on harder stainless blades. We just switched to the sharpeners that have both the tungsten and ceramic sharpeners. For carbon steel, go very lightly over the tungsten and then switch to the ceramic for a razor edge. Keep things wet. If it can shave the hair on your wrist, you are good to go.
