Good question... The fish that I landed was caught on the jerkbait but unfortunately I was not recording underwater at the time of the strike. It's tough because I have to manage 3 cameras, fly the drone, and fish all at the same time. What could go wrong?? Ha.
So I was lucky enough to return to the beach the next morning with the intent to capture a strike on video - and I did. After about 6 casts out to 1200 feet over working birds, I got a good hookup using the spoon. So for your entertainment I spliced in the spoon strike into the previous video - that's why there are two videos now. Hope that explains it. A little movie magic. To answer some other questions, the drone is a Phantom 3 Advanced. The ones on sale for around $400 are the P3 Standard edition. Some minor differences but for fishing, the Standard would work well I'm sure. It takes some time to get comfortable with the flight controls so practice over land first. No crazy dog or wife in this video. Ha. Got a striper though - finally! I'll be thinking of some new fishing uses for the drone - If anyone has any ideas or would like to see a video trying something else, let me know. I'd love to dangle a live bunker above a blitz and film that. We'll see.
