Can only imagine how long they were there to snag 69 salmon,,,,,,that's absolutely insane! Their punishment should be they remain in jail until they've eaten every salmon they poached. Breakfast....salmon. Lunch.....salmon. Dinner.....special of the day decaying salmon almondine! Don't want the resource the state worked hard to make available for all of us or the fishery we subsidize with our license fees to be wasted by these three upstanding citizens of our community so I'd ask the judge to make them eat every one of the 69 fish they poached as a condition of their release. I guarantee you they'll never poach another salmon the rest of their pathetic lives. Salmon Lives Matter! I'd even consider having them eat the salmon eggs for dessert as an additional condition of their release since Russians enjoy their caviar so much. May even consider mixing it with some salmon milt to add some flavor! Let the punishment fit the crime as they say! Sad part is some people have no conscience whatsoever and don't think twice about pilfering a public resource intended for the enjoyment of everyone. Figure 15 - 20 lbs on average of "edible" fillets per fish multiplied by 69 fish for three guys to enjoy three square meals a day that should last them easily through the holidays! Would be a fitting punishment for the crime!
GREAT job by the conservation officers involved in apprehending these idiots. I can only imagine how many fish are taken every year in a similar manner by people who don't get caught. That's why it's even more important to make an example of the ones who are.
