The Only fact right now is surface water temps are 5-6 degrees higher right now than they were this time last year, for what it's worth.

Hey there Seth,

With El Nino forming right now I would say we will be on safe ice in December already. Personally I think we in for a good long ice season until April. Cant wait already.

My prediction is December 13th which Is about average. Earliest I've stood on ice was November 18th and would have been fishing it if I wasn't headed to ny the next day. Latest ice was like January 2nd. And mid December seems to a consistent average first ice date

call me a pessimist but i'll just wait and see haha. if it's like last year, tip toeing around those early ice spots gets kind of old pretty quick. I'm enjoying fall right now (the best time of the fishing season, better than ice
