Default NB Raritan 9/25 - A little redemption

After only getting 2 fish at the MnG on Sat ( I was only able to join the crew for the first couple of hours) I decided to hit the NB yesterday afternoon for a bit. Caught 11 SM and 1 LM in about 3 hours. Much better luck. Most fish came on a 4 inch green pumpkin BPS Stiko t-rigged weightless with a few on a brown/orange belly craw pattern square bill crank. All but 3 were 10 to 12 inches with the others being in the 1.5 lb range...no big mamas for me. Water was still pretty full in that section and gin clear. Fish were spread out and cruising...no real concentrations in any one spot. Shaded and deeper areas seemed to be the ticket. Beautiful afternoon and some fun fishing. Felt good to have a little comeback after Saturday.

HAHA...unfortunately I caught more than a buzz!!! Wine tasting festival from 1 to 5 that also had a sweet assortment of craft beers was then followed by heading to my buddies house to drink "the rest of his beer"... fun and worth the price but the older I get the higher the price seems to be! Good meeting you Saturday...sorry to hear the skunk was yours for the day. Next time dude...next time.

Didn't see any before they were caught...with that clear water seemed to need a longer cast to some kind of cover...shade, grass, overhanging tree, etc. I did mange to scare a few by walking through deeper holes that I thought were the shallow spots though! Still workin on the whole "how to read water" thing I guess.
