Exclamation Slow fluke day but a 4lb TOG

Left the dock late for a short fluke day. Slow bite managing 6 keepers for 4 people. But a bonus TOG we thought to be 3.5-4 pounds. Took the little man jackson out today and he landed his first fluke!!

What do you equate the slow Fluking too the last couple day. Incoming storm or other factor. Do you think it will bounce back before the season closes or is the best Fluking behind us for the year

Great question Alex, I was wondering the same thing. I was wondering if this would be the "storm", which seems to be weakening, that would blowout the rest of the fluke season. Personally I think we have some more time. water temp is still good, loads of bait still hangin.

I honestly think the storm is causing a pressure change thats supressing the bite. but i dont think fluke is completely over... To be completley honest i dont know when the season ends but i assume the storm will dissipate before its over... But i have a feeling because of today that we will be able to fish for blackfish once fluke is over

It's gonna be sporadic inshore but if u hit a staging area off the beach u may have a great day , that being said I believe any bad storm now can finish it .
My opinion the full moon in Aug signals a big move on the fluke front .
I,remember years back, we caught them into October on occasion & around Labor Day the inlets were hot full of exiting fluke , but we always caught the big guys offshore .
These are only my expierances so like everything else in fishing gotta go,to be sure .

Alex, I,like you hope to get out before the season ends. You have done well this season and that big one is still out there with your name on it. I also think that if the storms aren't followed by more unsettled ocean we might get a chance.
