Default Weed Wacking Monks

Dropped the boat in for a little bit just to get my paddle wet. 3pm to 5:20pm yesterday (Monday). Had one largemouth on in the weeds, but she got herself hung up in those weeds and escaped. T'was ashame because she was a beefy babe. Potentially my largest of the year, but they all look bigger in the water don't they? Finished out with one sunny when I downsized my lure towards the end. A couple cormorants were pretty much doing backflips out there. Saw one dead snake floating in the weeds. Saw a large school of bait with nothing chasing them. Looked like minnows, not herring. Saw a small school of 8-10 inch bass (5-6 of them) pass by. Water was a little murky compared to my last couple trips there. Tough fishing and limited time, but it was too nice a day to pass up.

I was out there last night also 6ish till dark. I'm pretty sure those bait schools are herring. Pretty typical for this time of year and of course being Skunksville, there is never anything chasing them. Those cormorants are def putting a beating on them though. I saw a bunch of juvenile LM's swimming in the weed lines. I was fortunate to catch a Monksville limit....One 14" walleye..haha...
