Codfishing/Sea Bass on the Last Lady
Left PA at 12 AM and loaded up and out the inlet by 2AM on the first cod fishing trip of the season on the Last Lady with Captain Ralph and mate Nick.
Made the run 50 mile run in the dark and set the hook just as the sun was peaking over the horizon. One keeper cod on the first wreck. Made a little move and got a few more and some dandy sea bass mixed in. Next wreck was a bit of a run but when we got there it was steady fishing for about an hour. Some truly huge ling and some of the biggest sea pouts ever. Started working our way inshore and did a few drifts over a big wreck and my buddy Tommy whacks a nice twenty pound cod. Captain Ralph thought the day should have produced more fish but we all went home with a stuffed bag of fillets. We know he went far and wide looking for the fish and he and Nick put an outstanding effort in to catch fish. Great day on the water with a good bunch of friends. Can't wait to go again!
