Crisper, i have no idea, i dont have a measure with me or a scale, up until recently i didn't even even need one cause i would barely catch anything at all. But the last two months my fishing skills have improved by leaps and bounds . I finally have enough knowledge and lures at my disposal that i know how to tackle most situations.

Keep in mind the fish was closer to my cellphone then i am, so it slightly exaggerates the size, but man it had to be at least 20 inches and 3 pounds or close

Great looking Bass dude. Has to be closer to 4 lbs if it was indeed 20 inches! Way to hunt em down!

i would definitely consider carrying some kind of measuring device with you. report big fish with size measurement to the F&G. there can never be too much info on the fish. A picture and a measurement says a lot about the fishery.

and btw if your bass is 20", it is more than 3 lbs i'm sure that's a healthy fish!

you can submit to the skillful angler program:

http://www.nj.gov/dep/fgw/skflang.htm

I believe it's true purpose is as a way to document large fish species from particular lakes.

Or if the fish is large but not quite of 'skillful angler' size (i.e. 20.5" largemouth bass) i'll just attach a photo of the fish on a bumper board to an email and send it to the freshwater biologists with the lake name.

If people don't report catching fish in certain stocked waters they may eventually stop stocking those waters.
