Default Rvr?

Anyone been to the valley as of late? I figure we should start seeing the bows in the shallows soon. Should be seeing 50's/70's all week and with some RAIN! in the long range forecast

It will probably still be a little while before the Trout come into the shallows. Surface temp was still 77 degrees on Sunday when I was at, and was still catching Rainbows 20-30 feet down over 80-100 feet of water. Hopefully that rain helps speed things up a bit though!

Cool Re: Rvr?

Stopped by RVR yesterday on my way home from work and it's very low. Both docks are on on dry land now. If this continues it should concentrate the fish and the fishing for trout should be real good. We will see.

A friend of mine fished RV Saturday night and managed 21 Rainbows, couple of giant Gills and a few Perch.

RVR is way too big and deep to concentrate any fish, they will maintain the same pattern just out further to compensate for the water loss. in a couple weeks when temps drop they will come into the shallows more, but the water temps take a while to drop in big water. It will be way colder outside temp than the water temp for many weeks til novemberish

Once that surface temp drops to 70, they'll be in, I'm sure, and I may be there for them, hope so. That 77 degrees on Sunday...and now it's about 80 out...at least it was chilly this a.m., but it seems we need a good chill yet, and will get one pretty soon. They're a little late this year, I guess, unless that guy who got 21 caught them from shore.

Temps get into mid 50 range usually signal water starting to turn &'good time to ply shallow depths . This doesn't mean shoreline per say but lake wide , just drag lures to cover variety of depths , perfect time for lead off the boards!
They will ply all depths later on once turnover occurs &'fishing is a lot tougher!
