![]() Just got back from B.I. where we had a ball catching big seabass, fluke, scup, blues and cod. ( The big stripers had left a week prior. ) The amount of Monterey size and bigger calamari around the docks at night was incredible. We turned on the boat's lights and broke out the squid jigs and filled a five gallon bucket in short time. The Salt Pond was loaded with them. Everyone up there was still waiting for the bonito and false albacore to show up and find them. If you get a chance to visit the island and fish, don't hesitate to go.

![]() Always wanted to catch some fresh squid and fry it up.... If it tastes that good frozen and cooked, I'd bet fresh is excellent.

![]() If you think the kids around here have fun catching snappers, you should have seen the kids on the docks up there fishing for squid! When they caught a squid and it inked them, the squeals could be heard throughout the marina. The excitement of seeing squid in the clear water under the lights was contagious. No matter how old you were, everyone was a kid when the squid bite was on! And yes,the fresh calamari tasted great. The linguini with fresh calamari and freshly dug clams from the Salt Pond can't be beat!
