Pike handling question

Was it from teeth or gill plate? I've had plenty from the gill plate from trying to control a thrashing pike but never once caught a tooth. If you are handling them properly, there's no way you're getting bit unless you are dehooking with bare hands and no pliers.

the cut wasn't a problem, I was just wondering if the glove makes things easier

Probably the gill plate cause my right hand took the hook out and no cut there
