Default Over the hump night time

Thinking there is no way I will make it till weekend decided to go out last night for some freshwater therapy.

Ryan hits me up, but due to some car issues I have and my local friends not wanting to come out, decided to stay in close proximity to home.

Hit up my usual carp place. Water was muddy like no tomorrow due to all rain with visibility reduced to almost zero. As always those bastards finally figured out how to snatch berries of the hook without me getting to them. After multiple failures on my part trying to set a hook was chewing my problems over with some Mikey Ds fries. Light bulb went up in a head. Looked at fry then my hook, then a fry and said whats the worse that could happen. Fry was on the hook and about 10 minutes later the fight was on. Take that you fish, cant outsmart the fry. Caught another one after that same way and was very happy indeed. No skunk for me today sir, no way.

The my friend from Brooklyn hits me up, dying to go fishing. At first I thought he was pranking me but 40 minutes later he shows up. Off to Spruce we go with nothing but trusty chicken livers and some butterworms held overs I had.

Got to Spruce around 830 ish and I see there is no way we can get to our honey hole without waders or some stripping down. Set up at a new spot and lines were in. As usual 9pm the magik begins. Well in our case more like a nightmare but still. His line went screaming first. You know a brid hit, that cant be confused with anything else. It was a brid no two ways about it but he was the lucky one to get away. While trying to hook him, my friends slips and falls on his ass while tangling up the line like no tomorrow.

Turns out to be the only solid hit we had. Small catfish kept on stripping us from our bait. On a plus side, managed to find a school of white perch and kept on messing with them to avoid the skunk. Got some butterworms and some on small pieces of chicken liver for some fun.

Met another night owl while we were getting ready to head back. Todd, I hope the night turn out better for you and you got into some brids.

Anyways good night to be out, good time spend with old buddy. Several boats were in water but the one running with only a small light in a back, man you need to get some lights on it bro. Could barely see him in water.

Tight Lines.

Andre

Way to get out there dude. Sorry to hear you only had the one Brid bite...but good to hear you avoided the skunk! That always lessens the pain a bit.

Sounds like you were going to have a good time with or without the fish.

I saw a few of those guys out there last Friday night. Some lights, no lights, wrong lights, kinda scary. I think I'll stick to my early am boating and same the nights for shore trips.

I'll prob head out there Friday night again. Not sure where yet, I think I'll hit one of the coves of Van Syckles Rd. The ramp area was kinda a zoo last week with all sorts of traffic, and I thing someone was throwing a bait net. Not sure what was going on there.

Never a dull moment when you post a report, eh buddy!? Someone's always falling down or jumping in the water for something. Sounds like a great time to me with some fish caught! No SKUNK is a great night!
