Default 5/17

Hit another part of the P today, suffered my first skunk of the year. Not on my game due to mosquito blood loss, brutal today. Water up a foot it seemed from yesterday making bank beating tough as canals where full an impassable.

It's was weird water was stained dark. Lots of fat heads schooling up everywhere in the surface, lots yoy sunnies and perch everywhere, banks crawling with crayfish which must have just gone through a molt. Small (8"-12") catfish everywhere along the banks, hundreds, gulping for air, a few dead, also many carp, dozens, floating by gulping for air

Any ideas?

.

It sounds like the water has gone anoxic, but that doesn't seem possible.

Perhaps somebody dumped something poisonous in the river or in a storm drain upstream.
